Library Foundation
The Astoria Oregon Public Library Foundation is a nonprofit, community based organization with the purpose of creating resources to support the Astoria Public Library. The Foundation is managed by a volunteer board of directors which is charged with generating funds, expanding resources, and informing the public for the benefit of the Library. All contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Currently the Foundation is involved in developing the following areas of support for the Library:
- Establishing itself as a permanent institution allied with but separate from the government of the City of Astoria
- Building local, state-wide, and national strategies to fund the renovation of the Library according to the Astoria Library Renovation Study prepared by Ruth Metz Associates dated October 9, 2013.
- Creating and implementing a strategy of public outreach and awareness.
