Public Service Announcement From Public Works
Don’t flush wipes, paper towels, or sanitary products in the toilet. Wipes are likely to clog your sewer pipes and also cause backups in the City's Wastewater Treatment Facility.
While toilet paper breaks apart in water, paper towels and tissues are generally made to be strong and absorbent which can cause backups. Even wipes labeled “flushable” will clog your pipes. A sewage backup can cause a public health hazard.
Dispose of these items in a wastebasket to avoid sewage backups.
