ASTORIA, OR, November 24 – Now through January 1st, the City of Astoria Parks and Recreation Department will be asking the public to participate in an online Master Plan Survey to assess the priorities of the citizens of Astoria. The survey, found at www.astoriaparks.com, is anonymous and will take about ten minutes. At the end of the survey participants who provide a valid email address will be entered into the daily drawing for a Parks Punch Pass valued at $50.
The APRD has been conducting a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The plan is designed to establish a short and long-term vision for the Parks Department. The plan will also ensure that the operations of the APRD are aligned with the Community's priorities. This includes the parks, trails, facilities, program offerings, and maintenance operations. The last comprehensive assessment was done in 1978.

The Parks Department is providing multiple unique opportunities to receive feedback and engage with the community. Two Master Plan Input Sessions in early November were attended by nearly one hundred Astorians. On December 5th the Parks Department is hosting a Master Plan Citizens Advisory Committee Field Trip that will include visits to all of the sites and facilities operated and maintained by the department. Reservations for this highly informational tour are open to the public through November 30th.
The Master Plan Survey will link from www.astoriaparks.com and can also be accessed on the Parks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. One Punch Pass will be awarded each day through January 1st. The daily winning email address will be drawn from all of the submissions up to that date. Punch Passes may be used for discounts at the Aquatic Center, ARC, and Port of Play.
