ASTORIA, OR: The annual Easter Egg Hunt located at Tapiola Park, an event formerly hosted by the Astoria Parks and Recreation Department, is returning this year courtesy of the Rotary Club of Astoria, Astoria Elks #180, and other service clubs and volunteers who have stepped up to sponsor the event. The hunt, which was slated to be eliminated this year after last year’s City budget constraints, will be a fun-filled event that will provide kids and adults with joyous memories to remember.
Ed Hauer of the Astoria Elks believes in providing opportunities for bringing the community together as a reason for restoring the Parks event. “The Parks Department has always hosted memorable events that provided equal access for the community to attend. We feel it absolutely critical to continue to provide opportunities for our families to come together and build camaraderie with one another.”
This FREE family friendly event will be held on Saturday, March 31st at Tapiola Park; with festivities beginning at 11:00am, and the egg hunt starting at Noon. The event will feature 3,000 dyed eggs, special prizes, balloon animals, face painting, and games. The hunt will be split into age groups. Don’t forget to bring your basket!
