The Astoria Recreation Center offers programs for youth and adult sports, and adult fitness classes. Additionally we provide after school and no-school-day programs for kids and teens. Jillian Conrad - Core Instructor
Jillian has shared her practice of yoga and Pilates for over 15 years. She considers herself a movement teacher. She loves to add props such as sticks, gliders, weights, resistance straps and balls to enhance your experience in Core classes. She can give modifications for every movement or exercise.
Jill Mulligan - Cycling 360 Instructor
Jill has been teaching fitness in Clatsop County for 30 years! She teaches Cycling 360, which is a combination of cycling, weights, core and stretching. Jill is certified in group fitness, cycling, personal training, health coach, senior fitness and she works as a full time personal trainer. If you have any existing health conditions you can ask Jill how to modify any of the exercises

Ginger Nealon - Core & H.I.I.T. Instructor
Ginger is described as a fun and lively instructor. She teaches H.I.I.T., which offers a form of interval training that alternates between short periods of intense anaerobic exercise, followed by periods of lower intensity recovery periods. Ideal for boosting metabolic health. Ginger also teaches Core and our Wildcard class. Core is designed to build core muscle groups while improving posture through exercises that strengthen the abdomen and back muscles and increase flexibility.
Kim Postlewaite - Zumba Gold Instructor
Kim took her first Zumba class in 2012 and fell in love with the music, the energy , the fun dance combinations and all the smiles of those around her. Kim received her Zumba certification in 2014 and since that time has received additional certificates in Zumba Gold and Zumba ProSkills. Zumba Gold introduces easy-to-follow choreography and brings the intensity and excitement of Latin dancing and international rhythms. It focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance. It’s an hour long class that feels like a party and leaves you empowered and feeling strong!
Dee Rzewnicki - Pound & Cycling Instructor
Dee started teaching Cycling in 2012. She simulates a ride on a stationary bike with great music to keep you moving! In 2014, Dee started teaching Pound! In Pound, you will rock your body with a fusion of movement and music. Drum along using Ripstix – weighted drumsticks designed to transform drumming into a kick-butt, fat burning, full body interval workout!
Samantha Spies - Cycling Instructor
Sam has been cycling for over 2 years and instructing at the Astoria Recreation Center a year. She makes cycling fun and accessible to all fitness levels. Sam is very much motivated by music and she has a great time simulating a ride in her classes. She loves fun and motivating music and so does her class following. She has brought Cycling Karaoke to the last Wednesday of every month!
Ivan Sultan - TRX & Core Instructor
Ivan has been instructing on and off for several years. He has lead Boot Camp classes, TRX and Core. TRX suspension training takes a simplified approach to resistance training that includes body weight exercises which develops strength, balance, flexibility and joint stability simultaneously using functional movements and dynamic positions. In Ivan’s Core class you will build core muscle groups while improving posture, strengthen the abdomen and back muscles and increase flexibility.
Shannon Tauzer - Zumba Instructor
Shannon has been dancing in Zumba classes for 4 plus years and has been teaching for over a year. Shannon says she is happiest when dancing! Join the Zumba party and follow along while enjoying some fun music and rhythms. All fitness levels welcome! There are no wrong moves in Zumba Fitness.
