Conversation with Council - agenda
On August 25, 2026 the Astoria City Council held its first Conversations with Council. This was an opportunity for the community to speak directly to their Council members and receive information/feedback regarding questions or concerns they may have. In total there was approximately 40 community member who attended the event, and approximately 19 separate questions asked to Council during the Question & Answer portion of the meeting. Here is a summary of the overall event:
Council Meet and Greet - 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM
This was an opportunity for community members to meet directly with Council members in an informal setting to connect one-on-one and discuss community topics.
The City also had multiple handouts available that covered current initiatives, and investments in the community, as well as an update on the City Council Work Plan.
Council Presentation - Housing For All Astorians 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Mayor Sean Fitzpatrick presented to the community on housing in the City of Astoria. This presentation included:

Community Discussion - 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM
This is an opportunity for community members to ask questions to Council and City staff. Individuals were able to come up to the mic or submit written questions for Council to read out. This open forum was able to encourage meaningful community engagement. Major themes of questions asked were:
