The Dr. Edward Harvey Historic Preservation Award is presented annually by the City of Astoria during National Historic Preservation Month to recognize outstanding preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and beautification projects that contribute to Astoria's historic and architectural heritage. Established in 1988, the award honors property owners, organizations, and community members whose efforts help preserve the unique character of Astoria's historic neighborhoods and landmarks.
The award is named for Dr. Edward Harvey, a pioneer of historic preservation in Astoria. Dr. Harvey championed the recognition and protection of historic resources throughout Clatsop County, initiated the historic building plaque program still visible throughout the city today, and helped establish the Clatsop County Historic Advisory Committee.
