6th Street Cathodic Protection System Repairs

Norton Corrosion Limited, LLC (NCL)
Reason for Sole-Source:
The cathodic protection system at the 6th Street-End Bridge was vandalized to an inoperable condition and needs repaired to restore corrosion protection to the bridge piles.
- Compatibility Requirements: NCL’s work is fully compatible with the existing system and design, representing an efficient and effective use of current assets and infrastructure.
- Technical Expertise and Experience: NCL is a recognized specialty contractor with a proven track record. The firm has conducted on-site inspections and testing and has provided the City with site-specific design documents that meet cathodic protection performance criteria. Their in-depth knowledge of the technologies and systems involved is not readily available in the broader marketplace. Their expertise is critical to ensuring system compatibility, minimizing risk, and achieving project outcomes within the necessary timeline.

An affected person can protest this award by delivering a written protest to the City Manager within seven (7) days of this public notice – City Hall, 1095 Duane St. Astoria, OR 97103 or email written protests to shammond@astoria.gov. Protests will follow the guidelines outlined in the Astoria Procurement Code 1.969.C
