Noted Astoria photographer Michael Mathers spent several months over 2012 and 2013 capturing portrait images of men and women employed by the City of Astoria at their daily work. His photos, more than 60 in total were displayed at City Hall for an exhibition starting after Labor Day 2013. Mathers was inspired by seeing all the activity going on in Astoria. After years as an architectural photographer, he returned to his real passion, photographing people. His images are beautiful, artful and honor those who keep the city running.
