NORTH COAST COMMUNITIES REMIND PUBLIC ‘STAY HOME, SAVE LIVES’

Tue, Apr 07, 2020

Community leaders in Clatsop County and the cities of Astoria, Cannon Beach, Gearhart, Seaside and Warrenton are reminding residents of the Pacific Northwest to continue to “Stay Home, Save Lives.”
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, local leaders have taken steps to prevent the kind of overcrowding and congestion experienced during the March 21 weekend at many coastal communities and destinations.
- Local beaches remain closed or have restricted access.
- Motels, vacation rentals and campgrounds remain closed to most overnight stays.
These orders remain in effect until further notice.
In addition, art galleries, arcades, museums and aquariums are closed at the direction of Gov. Kate Brown in her March 23 stay-at-home order. Many local shops and eateries have also closed for business.
North Coast communities look forward to welcoming visitors after the current emergency has passed and stay-at-home orders are lifted. In the meantime we encourage all Northwest residents to find opportunities for outdoor recreation in their own neighborhoods and communities – do the right thing and stay close to home.
